DESIGN BRIEF

  • Intranet App that maps Mdantsane and creates a circular economy within their community, as well as making Mdantsane more easily accessible from the outside.


  • Cataloguing of Mdantsane businesses clearly and accurately, creating a searchable infrastructure accessible to all and to enable skills exchange and youth development through the digitalisation process.


  • Mapping through Google, many landmarks are registered, and thus could be used as a basis for beginning the mapping process.


  • Resource allocation, including man power, youth engagement facilitators and digital training would require management which would in turn require financial resources.

Testing:

The Mdantsane Online website was designed and published and the community was notified via their WhatsApp group. In addition, members of the community posted links to the site on their social media platforms. The response was monitored via site analytics as well as organically through social media engagement. Feedback forms were also provided on the website and the statistics were captured into the database. There was much more engagement via the WhatsApp responses than the forms.
