"Given a chance they can prove themselves to be very valuable assets to South Africa as a whole."

Whenever you hear about an initiative involving disabled people in Mpophomeni it's rare not to see Sanele pop-up to represent his ward. Any initiative in the township is fair game to this man as he is part of the Ward 11 committee in Mpophomeni heading the disability portfolio.

Sanele is also very well versed in the drama industry and has taken part in countless stage plays as an actor and director. Apart from that Sanele is also a qualified IT technician.

Ngobese is very passionate about equal opportunities for disabled people in his community. He believes that if given a chance they can prove themselves to be very valuable assets to not only our Township but Umngeni Nd even South Africa as a whole.

Ngobese has worked with a lot of the youth in Mpophomeni when it comes to the drama industry. His plays have been featured on multiple publications such as the Village talk and Eyethu Newspapers. "I would like to see more investment being put towards the arts in Mpophomeni," says Ngobese. "We need to do away with this old notion that the arts are not a viable career choice and start taking our youths' dreams seriously," he added.

As part of the Izwi theatre group(est. 2012) Ngobese traveled and performed at events such as the Umgungundlovu drama festival where they won 1st prize. The group focused on community engagement while exposing young actors to spaces where they can be mentored by professional actors.

When it comes to the waste management plan Sanele has been part of three workshops now and has a very encouraging attitude towards the team. His input has been focused on how we can create job opportunities through the waste management program. After learning that Sphamandla Molefe will be doing a play centered around waste management in the township, Sanele was eager to join forces with Molefe as they both have the expertise and experience.
