How do elephants help the topsoil?

Not only do elephants create topsoil (in the form of dung and urine) but they also help to create and maintain ecosystem diversity.

The trunks and the tusks of the elephants are used to dig up the soil when they are looking for roots and water. This helps to create holes which in turn allows rainwater to penetrate more easily into the soil.
